Who

Together, the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS), Alliance4Europe (A4E) and Citizens for Europe (CFEU) are building a community management tool. Find out more about all three organisations:

  • ECAS

The European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) is an international, Brussels-based non-profit organisation with a pan-European membership and more than 30 years of experience. Our mission is to empower citizens in order to create a more inclusive and stronger European Union by:

    • Promoting and defending citizens’ rights

    • Developing and supporting mechanisms to increase citizens and citizen organisations’ democratic participation in, and engagement with, the EU.

ECAS believes in an inclusive, transparent, citizen-centric and democratic European Union in which citizens’ rights are at the heart of decision making at all levels and in which citizens are informed, consulted and active participants.

  • Alliance 4 Europe

Alliance4Europe (A4E) is an agile non-profit start-up that brings together pro-Europeans and pro-democratic actors for a more democratic and sustainable Europe, working to foster civic engagement. A4E creates, connects, and coordinates civic initiatives and campaigns, analyses digital intelligence, and activates citizens. The organisation was formed in late 2018 as pro-European organisations and active citizens came together to discuss how to counter rising authoritarianism and set an agenda for a common future in Europe.

  • Citizens For Europe

Citizens For Europe (CFEU) was initiated in 2010 by a small team of experts from several civil society organisations. For strategic development a Core Team was formed to drive this network further. The Core Team is the decision making body for support and development that helps civil society organisations connect with peers all over Europe. The group comprises of grant makers and grantees who carry the project and collectively decide about any support given. With this setup CFEU became a civil society infrastructure that specialises in 1) networking and thematic exchange for a community of CSOs as well as 2) awarding of seed funding for projects with democratic innovation potential.
